Views to see in Almeria SpainThe city of Almeria has both modern and historical city. It is located within the historical medieval building together with some of the contemporary buildings. Its famous Al-Andalus can be viewed everywhere, that includes villages and cookery. The city was known being inhabited since the Bronze Age; in fact some of the ancient caves which have painting walls still exist. There are various people inhabited Almeria during its ancient period that includes the Phoenicians, the Iberians, the Romans, the Moors, and the Cartaginenses until the year of 1489 came where it fells to the Spanish Reyes Catolicos.

In this recent time, there are various captivating views to see in Almeria where tourists can enjoy a lot and that includes:

* Palaces and Castles—one of the most famous edifices found in Almeria is the La Alcazaba or known as the Arabic fortress. Alcazaba is situated in the historical quarter which is consists of three areas:

1. The Muslim Medina—this was built particularly at the foot of the la Alcazaba in 955.
2. The houses, baths, the remains of the Al-Mutasin palace and hermitages since the Reyes Catolicos
3. And then the Christian Area which was established by the Reyes Catolicos

* The remains from the Moors occupation of the city—these are found in the historical areas that start from la plaza Vieja or the old square. Heading forward will lead you to the townhall, the el Barrio de la Chanca or the Chanca neighborhood, as well as the San Nicolas Salmeron Park or the Alcazaba gardens, San Juan church that includes the remains of a 15th century mosque wall and 12th century tomb, and lastly the Arabic baths.

* Almeria’s Cathedrals and Churches—fascinating cathedrals and churches of the city includes:

1. Santo Domingo Convent—the 16th century edifice.
2. Las Puras Convent—16th century convent as well.
3. Nuestra Senora de la Encarnacion Cathedral—the 15th century cathedral; the tower it has which is the famous ‘el Sol de Portocarrero is the symbol of the city.
4. Las Claras Convent or Convent of la Encarnacion—is an 18th century convent which is recognized as an artistic historical monument.
5. San Juan Parish Church—recognized as one of the best historical sites of the city. This was built within the remains of the 10th century mosque. This is as well recognized as a 16th century church which is located in the Plaza de las Chafarinas.

* Museums—museums in Almeria are also an ideal place to visit for tourists. Famous museums are the archeological museums, the Capitular museum, the Religious Sculptures Museum and the Morera Art Museum.
