Almeria, Spain both refers to the city and the province. It is located in the south part of the Spanish country and of course has Mediterranean Sea as their neighbor. Almeria means ‘Mirror of the Sea’. It is a significant docking harbor for the leaders that founded the city. Almeria trip is always a fun way of touring Spain.

Almeria weather is one of the nicest in Spain. It is warm and dry and in fact one of the warmest in the country. The average temperature yearly is 19 degree Celsius. For this alone Almeria guest flocked to this beautiful city yearly to enjoy some kind of warmth even during the winter season.

The Almeria beaches are also an envy to many. It is long, sandy beaches facing the Mediterranean. There is also what we call as naturist beaches like El Playazo. There are locations like Crystal Cave that attracts many visits from the adventure some spirited and even the ordinary tourist.
Though Almeria has a large collection of cultural history and sites to visit; the agricultural also get some attention for those who would like to see the plants and see the vastness and beauty of the agricultural land.

Almeria was not born famous but it is destined to shine perhaps much shinier like the other Spanish destination. Almeria’s history and charm pulls the tourist in the recent years like a bee to honey. Alcazaba is just one example that indeed Almeria will be giving you the beauty and fun that you need.

Alcazaba was built strategically thus it can see almost all of the city’s tourist attractions. It is located on a higher ground and used to house more than 20,000 men to defend the city. You can see the cathedral and the Barrio de la Chance from Alcazaba.

Spain has so many hidden jewels but never forget to list Almeria in that category. The city has been wonderful to visit for its Moorish past and history. Though it was known that the city has undergone so many other influences like Roman, Arabs and Christian influences the Moorish influences is the major influence thus it is quite interesting to note that it can still be seen on their present culture.

Vacation in Almeria would definitely something that you would never forget. The scenic mountain scene alone is more than enough to enjoy Almeria to the fullest. For those seeking adventure hiking thrill then Almeria would definitely be the answer to your wanderlust soul.

Our travel in Almeria has covered a wide and variety of destination. Tabernas alone is already a wonder for my whole family and to think I had kids with me. My kids love silence once in a while. They would prefer to stay in the beach the whole day or do something inside the house for a change. Almeria actually has both. The beach is a good spot for the whole family and the accommodation is just enough for the whole family to rest when we tire of looking around.

Almeria holidays are a number one holiday for the whole family. Even newly weds visit this place for a tranquil time together. Most of the time lovers enjoy the same scene and activities with my whole family. We also see them while we are doing some market shopping in their local markets. That made us say that the place if for couples and family alike.

Truly a lovely Almeria Spain destination. We also had some fun with Cabo de GAta Natural Park. A truly lovely park to while away time in a more meaningful way; we went to the very top of the light house and it gave us a birds eye view of Almeria. It was truly heaven and we even day dream of staying and building a house as tall as the light house. How we wish!

Almeria is located particularly on the southeast coast of Spain. It has been said that Almeria was once a thriving Moorish capital; it has been influenced by many settlers such like the Carthaginians, Romans, Phoenicians, Arabs and Christians. Because of the settlers before, they remained beautiful attractions and places to see in Almeria.

Tabernas. This small village is located 16 miles from the Almeria city. It is located between the Sierra de Alhamilla and Sierra de Filabres particularly in the desolate landscape of canyons and rocky wasteland of the American Wild.

The Cabo de Gata Natural Park. One of the impressive parks to visit in Almeria Spain; the lighthouse that stands at the top of Cabo de Gata peninsula which is at the north of Almeria City reminds the extremity of the city’s largest coastal nature reserve. This is also the best location to go in Almeria if you are looking for a relaxing place. You can do jogging here, biking, hiking and even bird watching. If you are in Almeria, you should not miss the opportunity of visiting this park.

Cabo ne Gata Nijar Park. Another interesting park to visit in Almeria; the Cabo ne Gata Nijar Park is incredibly awesome. If you are traveling the road from the top of it you would be amazed how hair raising it felt. The small restaurant and bar that it has is worth to dine with because of it’s reasonably priced of meal and refreshments.

The Cathedral of Almeria. The cathedral of Almeria was designed by the popular architect name Diego de Siloe. It was made in between 1524 and 1562. If you were going to visit the church you will notice that it was fortified. Expect to see no windows on the sides of the church. It has been said that the reason of fortification is due to the attacks of the Berber pirates in the past history.

Almeria Spain is one of the most incredible cities of Spain. Just like the other cities of the country Almeria as well features myriad number of panoramas. But if you planned to come here for a visit don’t think of the city alone because there are still a lot things to see that you are about to discover in Almeria. In fact, the whole provinces of the city which are composed of tiny yet significant towns are truly amazing. The provinces in Almeria that you should have to visit includes Mojacar, Carboneras, Tabernas and Roquesta de Mar. But aside from that provinces mentioned above, there are still lots of places of interest in Almeria that you should include in your list of itineraries.

One of the interesting places to visit in Almeria is the Alcazaba. It has been said that this stunning fortress was once built by the leader of Cordoba who was Abd-erRahman III during the 10th century. This is a must see if you are in Almeria because it is incredibly unique aside from its historical background. The Cathedral of Almeria as well is another interesting place to visit. The cathedral was also acted as a fortress facing the sea; it has the two style of façade which only proved that it has been renovated during the past century. It features Renaissance and gothic style of façade.

If you are looking for sandy fine beaches you could go to Mojacar. This place is ideal for those who do not want to hear any bustles from the city. What you will notice here is the tranquility of the place. Along the River Alias you will discover the interesting trek where you are being abounding with water windmills, volcanic rocks, authentic oasis and the Rambla del Saltador. To get to know more Almeria, another tip that you should take into account is to try on their specialty dishes. Depending on the location in Almeria, you can have blood sausage which is stewed with potatoes if you go to the mountainous part of Almeria. But if you are in going to visit the coastal areas expect to have fish dishes.
