Tabernas. This small village is located 16 miles from the Almeria city. It is located between the Sierra de Alhamilla and Sierra de Filabres particularly in the desolate landscape of canyons and rocky wasteland of the American Wild.

The Cabo de Gata Natural Park. One of the impressive parks to visit in Almeria Spain; the lighthouse that stands at the top of Cabo de Gata peninsula which is at the north of Almeria City reminds the extremity of the city’s largest coastal nature reserve. This is also the best location to go in Almeria if you are looking for a relaxing place. You can do jogging here, biking, hiking and even bird watching. The Cathedral of Almeria. The cathedral of Almeria was designed by the popular architect name Diego de Siloe. It was made in between 1524 and 1562. If you were going to visit the church you will notice that it was fortified. Expect to see no windows on the sides of the church. It has been said that the reason of fortification is due to the attacks of the Berber pirates in the past history.

The cathedral was also acted as a fortress facing the sea; it has the two style of façade which only proved that it has been renovated during the past century. It features Renaissance and gothic style of façade.

If you are looking for sandy fine beaches you could go to Mojacar. This place is ideal for those who do not want to hear any bustles from the city. What you will notice here is the tranquility of the place. Along the River Alias you will discover the interesting trek where you are being abounding with water windmills, volcanic rocks, authentic oasis and the Rambla del Saltador. To get to know more Almeria, another tip that you should take into account is to try on their specialty dishes. Depending on the location in Almeria, you can have blood sausage which is stewed with potatoes if you go to the mountainous part of Almeria. But if you are in going to visit the coastal areas expect to have fish dishes.
