Costa de Almeria stays distinct in the province of Almeria. The province has almost 200 miles of pretty coasts, having the reputation as the finest coastline in the region. The coast can be found on the Mediterranean Sea in the southeast part of the Iberian Peninsula. It is a constant crowd drawer with its charming holiday packages that attract tourists to many of its undergoing development and established resorts near the town’s centre. One of Spain's most beautiful regions, Almeria (derived from the Arabic Al-Mariyat, which means "Mirror of the Sea" in Arabic) was established in 955 by Sultan Abd ar-Rahman II of the Caliphate of Cordoba. Today it is a thriving tourist region that draws thousands of visitors a year.
