Almeria, Spain both refers to the city and the province. It is located in the south part of the Spanish country and of course has Mediterranean Sea as their neighbor. Almeria means ‘Mirror of the Sea’. It is a significant docking harbor for the leaders that founded the city. Almeria trip is always a fun way of touring Spain.

Alcazaba was built strategically thus it can see almost all of the city’s tourist attractions. It is located on a higher ground and used to house more than 20,000 men to defend the city. You can see the cathedral and the Barrio de la Chance from Alcazaba.

Spain has so many hidden jewels but never forget to list Almeria in that category. The city has been wonderful to visit for its Moorish past and history. Though it was known that the city has undergone so many other influences like Roman, Arabs and Christian influences the Moorish influences is the major influence thus it is quite interesting to note that it can still be seen on their present culture.

Our travel in Almeria has covered a wide and variety of destination. Tabernas alone is already a wonder for my whole family and to think I had kids with me. My kids love silence once in a while. They would prefer to stay in the beach the whole day or do something inside the house for a change. Almeria actually has both. The beach is a good spot for the whole family and the accommodation is just enough for the whole family to rest when we tire of looking around.

Almeria holidays are a number one holiday for the whole family. Even newly weds visit this place for a tranquil time together. Most of the time lovers enjoy the same scene and activities with my whole family. We also see them while we are doing some market shopping in their local markets. That made us say that the place if for couples and family alike.

Truly a lovely Almeria Spain destination. We also had some fun with Cabo de GAta Natural Park. A truly lovely park to while away time in a more meaningful way; we went to the very top of the light house and it gave us a birds eye view of Almeria. It was truly heaven and we even day dream of staying and building a house as tall as the light house. How we wish!
